Join us on the free tour STREET ART – ALTERNATIVE VALENCIA and you will discover El Carmen, a neighborhood that modern that sometimes it’s difficult to define.
Its history dates back from the XIII century, when the city of Valencia was conquered. El Carmen, with its inspiring corners, its laberintic streets, inherited from the islamic urban planning, it is a large district turned into an urban museum, and at night it is a great choice to enjoy the nightlife of the city.
We are going to discover the most popular muralists and graffiti artists (locals, nationals and internationals) that have left their footprint in the walls of this discrict, offering us their ephemeral works.
How did graffiti come about? What is a tag? We will learn to identify the different techniques: spray, paint, stickers, stencil, paste-up…
Urban art will be our inseparable companion, present in every street we pass, surprising us with its colourfulness, challenging us to reflect on its message, interacting with us and creating a totally unexpected creative dialogue.
After a two and a half hour tour of this open-air museum, we will end the free graffiti tour by saying goodbye near the Carmen Square.
