Come with us and discover the essential part of Cartagena, a city full of history and remains from diferent times and styles that will fascinate you for ever.
We will meet in the port of Cartagena, in front of the place where the turistic boat docks. First comes the port itself, which is the sign of this three thousand years old city and the origin of its wealth in the past and present.
After that, we will continue on the coast line until getting in the Naval Museum, where the prototype of Isaac Peral’s submarine is kept. After a small walk comes Plaza Héroes de Cavite with its obelisk that honours the fallen ones. Then, you will enjoy the town hall square where Palacio Consistorial is located, one of the fewels of the Modernism.
Later, we will take a close look at the historic centre to visit the main monument: The Roman Theatre. After this must see stop, you will see the entrails of the city just to discover some of its crowdest areas, such as Plaza de San Francisco, a place for having fun and lunch.
Near Plaza de San Francisco there is the neighbourhood of The Roman Forum, where we will have the oportunity to enter Cerro del Molinete to enjoy the outstanding views and the archeological park in it.
Bording the hill there is Santa Florentina Street, a famous street for its bakeries and churreria, which connects to Calle Mayor de Cartagena, the historic centre of this city.
We will end our visit to Cartagena in front of one of the most important building in here: Gran Hotel.
