We’ll begin our tour at Plaza de la Virgen, one of the most iconic spots in the historic district, where we’ll learn about Valencia’s Roman origins and admire some of its most notable landmarks, such as the Cathedral, the Basilica of the Virgin, and the Palau de la Generalitat.
Throughout the tour, we’ll discover how water, trade, and traditions have shaped the Valencian character. We’ll talk about the Fallas, the historic weekly meeting of the Water Tribunal, and the legends and curiosities still hidden among the streets of the historic center.
We’ll continue to the impressive Serranos Towers, the former main gate of the walled city, from where we’ll gain insight into Valencia’s evolution over the centuries and the transformation of the old Turia riverbed into one of Europe’s largest urban gardens.
The tour will also take us to the Silk Market, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered one of the masterpieces of European civil Gothic architecture. Nearby, we’ll admire the spectacular Modernist architecture of the Central Market, one of the largest and most renowned fresh produce markets on the continent.
During the experience, we’ll also uncover some of the best-kept secrets of Valencian cuisine. We’ll learn about the origins of authentic Valencian paella, the historical significance of the huerta (vegetable gardens), and other products that form part of the region’s culinary identity.
We’ll end our tour at the iconic Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the heart of modern-day Valencia and the setting for some of the most important moments of its flagship festival. There, we’ll wrap up this experience while sharing personalized recommendations on restaurants, museums, markets, and other must-see spots to continue enjoying the city.
