We begin our tour in the charming Plaza de las Ranas, officially known as Plaza Hurtado de Mendoza. Here you’ll meet your guide and the rest of the group as you awaite to discover how wonderful this island is.
From the Plaza de las Ranas, we head to the historic Plaza San Antonio Abad, a place steeped in history and tradition, where you can admire the church with the same name and learn about its importance in the founding of the city.
Our walk will take us to the impressive Casa Colón, located in the quaint Plaza del Pilar Nuevo. This museum, dedicated to the figure of Christopher Columbus, will allow you to learn more about his travels and his time on the island.
Up next, we head to the majestic Cathedral of Santa Ana, where you can explore not only the cathedral, but also the Episcopal Palace, the Regental House and the iconic dog sculptures that guard the entrance. Every corner has a fascinating story that our guide will share with you.
At the next stop, we will visit the lively Vegueta Market, a perfect place to soak up into the local life. There, you could enjoy the colours, aromas and flavours of the fresh Canarian products. We continue our tour to the elegant Gabinete Literario, also known as the Hotel Madrid. This emblematic building has been the centre of the city’s cultural life and a meeting point for intellectuals and artists.
